About Me

I’m Cheryl, a native Milwaukeean currently living in Chicago, who teaches high school history out in the northern burbs.  I originally started out blogging in the summer of 2011 at, Everyday A New Adventure over at Typepad.  It was a way for me to keep in touch with family, continue writing something that didn’t look like a lesson plan, and a way to force my man-friend and I to discover new and interesting things about this great big city.  It was a lot of fun and I hope to continue the summer-time adventures on Kimball & Clyde come June.

Kimball & Clyde was hatched one of those lovely summer nights and then over time, with the start of a new school year and job responsibilities, was forgotten. With a New Year resolution to write more and an opportunity to join the Sew Weekly‘s community of contributors. The Kimball & Clyde was back!   So welcome and thanks for reading!

Kimball & Clyde is a hybrid Lifestyle/Style blog that focuses on my sewing and crafty projects, adventures in Chicago, attempts to make my home more cozy, and my sometimes always futile attempts to be a stylish teacher without looking like I’m fresh out of college.  My non-sewing/crafting hobbies include martial arts, reading, tattoos, and trying to cook, so there will likely be some of that from time to time as well.

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Hey, thanks for commenting on my blog. I sew, too, though mostly it’s alterations these days. Like your blog, and heartily admire anyone who stays in the teaching game — it’s a helluva day job, I think, but keep up the good work!
